The Metropolitan Cathedral of the Archdiocese of Bamenda witnessed a joyful and spirit-filled celebration as students from various non-Catholic secondary schools received the Sacraments of Baptism, Confession, Holy Communion, and Confirmation.
The spiritual exercise began on Saturday, 9th May, with the celebration of the Sacrament of Baptism and the administration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation. The students prayerfully prepared themselves through confession, opening their hearts to God’s grace as they journeyed towards full initiation into the Catholic faith.
The celebration continued on Sunday, 10th May, with a solemn Holy Mass presided over by His Grace, Andrew Fuanya Nkea. During the Eucharistic celebration, the students received the Sacrament of Holy Communion and Confirmation. About 150 students received the Sacrament of Confirmation, publicly affirming and strengthening their faith through the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
In his homily, the Archbishop encouraged the candidates to remain steadfast in their Christian faith, to live exemplary lives, and to become true witnesses of Christ in their schools and communities.
The Mass was beautifully animated by the students of FONAB, whose vibrant singing and active participation added great solemnity and joy to the liturgical celebration.
At the end of the celebration, the staff members gathered for a moment of refreshment and fraternity, giving thanks to God for the successful and grace-filled occasion.
The event marked an important milestone in the spiritual lives of the students and served as a testimony to the Church’s mission of evangelization and accompaniment of young people in the Archdiocese of Bamenda.
