The Divine Mercy Pilgrimage Center came alive on Sunday, 12th April 2026, as hundreds of Catholic faithful gathered to celebrate the Feast of Divine Mercy in an atmosphere of deep prayer, devotion, and spiritual renewal.
The solemn celebration, held just a week after Easter Sunday – Divine Mercy Sunday, drew a large number of religious men and women, as well as lay faithful from various parishes and communities. The highlight of the celebration was the Holy Mass, presided over by Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Bamenda, Bishop John Berinyuy, whose presence added a profound sense of unity and pastoral care to the occasion. In his homily, the Bishop emphasized the boundless mercy of God, reminding the faithful that Divine Mercy is a source of hope, healing, and reconciliation in a world often marked by suffering and uncertainty. He encouraged all present to become ambassadors of mercy in their families, workplaces, and communities. He equally said no one should become a graveyard of God’s mercy.
The liturgical celebration was marked by vibrant hymns chanted by the Children of St. Faustina Choir, heartfelt prayers, and moments of silent reflection.
There was a walk with images of Divine Mercy immediately after the Holy Mass. Devotees also participated in the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, sung with great fervor, as many sought spiritual healing and grace.
The atmosphere at the pilgrimage center reflected a strong sense of unity, devotion, and shared belief in God’s infinite mercy. The Feast of Divine Mercy, inspired by the revelations received by Saint Faustina Kowalska, continues to grow in importance among the faithful.
This year’s celebration at the Divine Mercy Pilgrimage Center served not only as a reminder of God’s compassion but also as a call to live out mercy in concrete ways. As the celebration came to a close, many faithful departed with renewed faith and a strengthened commitment to trust in God’s mercy and to extend that mercy to others in their daily lives.
