LENTEN RECOLLECTION AT COBICEJ SECONDARY SCHOOL

On Friday, 27th March 2026, the students and staff of COBICEJ Secondary School came together in a spirit of prayer and reflection for their annual Lenten recollection, an important moment of spiritual preparation for the Easter season.

The recollection was presided over by Abbé Athanase Teku, Education Secretary of the Diocese of Bafoussam. His presence greatly enriched the day, as he guided the school community through moments of deep spiritual reflection.

The programme began at 8:00 a.m. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary, creating a calm and prayerful atmosphere. This was followed by the public celebration of the Stations of the Cross, led class by class, giving each group of students the opportunity to actively participate in reflecting on the Passion of Christ.

At 10:30 a.m., Abbé Athanase Teku delivered an inspiring talk on the theme: “Choosing to Remain a Good Person in a Corrupt World.” Addressing the students in a very practical way, he encouraged them to resist negative influences, make responsible choices, and remain rooted in Christian values both in school and in society.

The recollection continued with a penitential rite, during which students were invited to examine their lives and seek God’s mercy.

The day concluded with the celebration of the Holy Mass, bringing together the entire school community in thanksgiving and spiritual renewal.

The Lenten recollection was a meaningful and enriching experience for the students and staff of COBICEJ, reminding them of the importance of faith, discipline, and moral integrity in their daily lives.
